Miles joined Cavendish Maxwell in 2012, during which time he was responsible for developing the residential and commercial valuation departments and harnessing relationships with over 30 banking clients. In March 2015 he was promoted to Head of Operations for the company and has been actively involved in its expansion in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

He has been working in the UAE for eight years, previously working for Knight Frank. Prior to Dubai he worked at CBRE in Central London for 11 years, primarily as a landlord and tenant surveyor. He also spent two years working in Australia as a commercial sales and leasing surveyor.

Sofia is a qualified surveyor with over 12 year’s international experience in the United Kingdom, Middle East and Australia.

Sofia was previously with CBRE, Stockland Property Group and Legal & General, in Sydney and London, where she focused on property valuation, advisory and investment management. Sofia is head of Cavendish Maxwell’s residential valuation department, overseeing valuations throughout the United Arab Emirates for a wide range of financial and banking clients such as Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Mashreq, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Dubai Islamic Bank, Abu Dhabi Finance, Commercial Bank of Dubai and Standard Chartered, amongst others.

Across the MENA, many businesses are open to risk from loss events such as fire damage and even flooding. In the case of such an event, the company will rely on their insurer to pay the full amount necessary to rebuild and replace losses in a timely manner so as to minimise the impact on profits. A quick and full payout at this time will enable the business to resume trading and remain solvent, however, if the assets aren’t well documented, the loss adjuster may delay payment until they can ascertain what the assets were, and what condition they were in before the loss event occurred. Mike commenced his valuation career in 1973 as a cadet plant and machinery valuer at Henry Butcher and Company London commercial industrial real estate agents, valuers and auctioneers. This experience has given Mike the practical valuation experience of a variety of valuation requirements and for numerous commercial and industrial operations.

In 1983 Mike joined Exeter Machine Tools Ltd as a specialist valuer of machinery and equipment that was outside the usual remit of instructions. During this time Mike was part of several large projects including the sale of equipment associated with watch making and automotive gauges.

Mike worked in New Zealand from 1986 being responsible for the South Island for plant and machinery valuations, those being undertaken for Litigation, Insurance Reinstatement, Financial Reporting, Loan Security, Taxation, Due diligence.

In 1994 Mike went to Australia initially based in Victoria then New South Wales and finally Brisbane While in Australia Mike has undertaken assignments for major companies and Government organizations and major overseas instructions in Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, United States, Thailand and Europe have been carried out.

Mike has been in the United Arab Emirates since 2013 and has carried out many differing types of machinery and fixed assets valuations allows us to undertake many assignments in differing types of industrial and commercial businesses.

Having commenced his career in 1988 with Weatherall, Green & Smith in Leeds Patrick now has nearly 30 years valuation and auctioneering experience in many locations around the world involving all types of plant and machinery, with particular specialism in construction, automotive, aerospace, light & heavy engineering, tank farms, ports, oil & gas production plant, woodworking, plastic injection moulders and food and dairy processing plants.

He has carried out many valuations in the GCC region including a food grade plastics manufacturing plant, 3 major ports, a number of electrical substations and a soap & homeware products plant amongst others.

Patrick has been a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) since November 2000 and from 2005 has sat on the RICS International Professional Group Board for the Machinery and Business Assets Professional Group. He is also a fully qualified RICS APC Chairman and Assessor as well as an RICS Registered Valuer.

Andrew previously Montagu Evans and the Grampian Assessors and Electoral Registers in the United Kingdom. Andrew holds an MA degree in Real Estate & Spatial Planning and was awarded the RICS and RTPI Academic Scotland Award for the Best Real Estate Graduate. Spanning 11 years in property (8 as a surveyor), Andrew has provided a wide range of services to clients including development advisory, investment strategy, valuations and transactional services (structuring SPV’s, BVI companies, equity raising and advising on disposals and acquisitions). Having been appointed on an advisory role on several master plans, he has helped shape the landscape of the UAE real estate market. More specifically, he has substantial experience in the UAE industrial and logistics sector and the development of wider real estate investment market (purchase and sale of income producing assets). Over the last twenty four months Andrew has been involved in over 200 landlord and tenant representation assignments, assisting notable occupiers and banks such as Emirates NBD, Dubai Properties, Aramex, Souk.com, Dubai World Central, Kizad, Jebel Ali Free Zone, Investbridge, Bank of Sharjah, Landmark, Alshaya and Land Rover Jaguar.

Andrew originally joined Cavendish Maxwell as a Senior Commercial and Residential Valuer, but soon progressed to the role of Head of the Commercial Agency and Investment team. Having passed the UAE’s real estate brokers course with one of the top marks, Andrew has since transacted in excess of 3.5 million sq ft of office & industrial space. Given his initial background in valuation, Andrew also has strong analytical skills and still assists in cash flow modeling, NPV/IRR analysis and highest and best use case studies. His current day to day role involves providing professional advice regarding the investment, office, retail & industrial markets to a broad range of local and international companies, formulating and executing marketing plans for clients. Further, Andrew also helps overseeing the Cavendish Maxwell training programme for graduates who are enrolled to sit their RICS assessment of professional competence (APC). Andrew is also responsible for coordinating the rest of the team and their respective assignments including giving input towards the general direction and expansion of the firm/department.

Senior Engineer and Chartered Building Surveyor at Cavendish Maxwell, Craig has been advising clients on how to develop and maintain their buildings for over 19 years.

Craig initially studied architecture and building technology, developing a sound knowledge of design, drawings and details, contract administration and construction engineering technology. He then went on to complete a building surveying degree and gained additional engineering and project management qualifications while working in practice and was awarded the university medal for BSc honours student and the RICS dissertation prize. Following this, Craig developed further expertise in the management of large scale estate developments and refurbishments and renovations of historic properties, including leading detailed measured and condition surveys and site quality control. Paul joined Cavendish Maxwell in March 2017 from JRD Group DMCC. A sales professional for nearly 20 years he began his career in London working for Dun & Bradstreet.

Paul spent 7 years at Ebay Inc spearheading the growth of the jobs and property verticals on the website Gumtree.com by recruiting and nurturing the sales function to achieve huge growth.
